Leigh Barbier

This series of paintings was created during the summer of 2019. They came from an impulse to express everyday emotional dynamics between two humans. Affection and empathy between a mother and a daughter, a woman thinking of her absent husband, a wife attempting to control her husband’s lust for other women,  a mentor suspicious of a protege’s motives, a coach’s uncomfortable feelings for her player, and a holy man trying to suppress his attraction towards his disciple.
